I will illustrate the significant attractions imagining a safari, so will start now from the top of Rift Valley we will go down in the south direction up to meet Tanzania border. Then we will do another imaginary itinerary up to cover all the Parks and reserves.

Rift Valley

Lake Turkana

One of the most important is the Rift Valley, at the top, there is the Lake Turkana, a fascinating place in the desert. Famous because of his blue waters, and for to a site where was discovered some important hominin fossils. Like the famous Turkana boy, the oldest is the Australopithecus Anamensis,  discovered by Meave Leakey and has been dated 4 million years ago.

In the lake, there are many Nile crocodile and a quantity of fishes. Fauna includes zebras, gazelles, topis and reticulated giraffe. It is the biggest salted water lake in the world, and the world biggest desert permanent lake.

If you desire to visit Lake Turkana, we suggest using a flight service. So you don’t need to stay days in travel in the desert.
However, if you like adventure, it is a good idea to go by road, but using a trustable agency.

In case, if you want to go alone or with a car driving you, take information about the security of the road.
Up to Lake Baringo usually, there is no problem. Beyond, up to Turkana sometimes can be tribal troubles. So is better to ask at the authority, KWS is good for this.
